Cutlets

Cutlets or kotlety are very popular in Russian cuisine. As a matter of fact, my mom made them almost every week when I was little and I never been tired of them. You can eat cutlets with fried or baked potatoes, rice, vegetables or pasta.

  You will need:

500g ground beef;

500g ground pork;

1 egg;

1c bread crumbs;

1/2 medium size onion;

1-2 garlic cloves;

1/2c cold water or milk;

1c flour;

2-3 Tbs oil for frying;

Salt and pepper to taste.

   Preparation:

In a large bowl mix ground beef and pork. Add egg and bread crumbs and mix well.

Finely chop onion and garlic cloves, add to the bowl. Then pour water or milk.

Add salt and pepper, mix everything well.

For more tender texture you can add 1-2 Tbs sour cream or mayonnaise, or both. I like it

even better this way but it's up to you. You can try both ways if you like.

Make cutlets oval shape and roll them in a flour to cover all over.

Fry cutlets in a frying pan till light golden brown on low heat with lid on.

You can also bake cutlets in an oven. Serve warm.
