You will need: Flour - 1 1/4 cup; Baking powder - 2 tsp; Ground cinnamon - 1/2 tsp; Salt - 1/2 tsp; Eggs - 2 (room temperature); Light brown sugar - 1/2 cup; Sugar - 1/2 cup; Vegetable oil - 1/2 cup; Vanilla extract - 2 tsp; Apples - 3 (medium); Taffy - 1 1/2 cups; Milk - 1 Tbs; Number of servings: 4-6
Wash, peel and grate apples. Preheat oven to 350F. Sprinkle form for donuts with vegetable oil and set aside.
Mix flour, baking powder, cinnamon and salt in a large bowl. In a medium bowl beat eggs, brown sugar and sugar until smooth.
Add vegetable oil and vanilla, beat. Add flour mixture and mix well. Add grated apples and mix all.
Fill up prepared form for donuts with dough and bake them until golden brown and toothpick inserted in the center comes out dry. It takes about 15-20 minutes. In a small bowl combine taffy and milk. Put in a microwave for 1 minute at medium power. Stir. Repeat until the taffy is completely melted and caramel is smooth.
If you made small Apple Donuts, just dip them in caramel. If large - use spoon to cover them.
